Technical description of Villa Deva, Amalfi

Accommodation: 250 sqm, plus 600 sqm of external space, including panoramic gardens and terraces.

The total area of the villa is spread over three levels, with the body of the building being at the central level and the attic, formerly the watch tower, connected by an external stone stairway.

The lower level has its own independent entrance and garden and connects to the main part through an external staircase.

Access to the property is by means of a stairway which starts from the car park. 110 steps lead to the gates; from there a private stairway of about 30 steps, followed by a hallway brings to the main part of the villa, fronted by its terrace. Most of the terrace is grassy, while the part immediately outside the house is stone-paved and shaded by olive trees and large canvas awnings.

The patio hosts a dining table for twelve, deck chairs, sun loungers, a barbecue and an outdoor shower. The house has two entrances, from the garden and from the internal side terrace of the house.

The entrance from the side terrace leads from an ante room into:

• the dining room, featuring a massive carved marble fireplace and a semi-open gourmet kitchen, fitted with a stone top, 5 gas rings, inbuilt solid wood drawers, electric oven, 3 low catering fridges, espresso coffee maker, dishwasher.The dining table, an antique original piece, seats 12 and has a matching Neapolitan 1800's sideboard. The room, with high vaulted ceilings has a tall window opening to the side terrace and is lit by a precious chandelier.

The dining room is connected to the East side of the house by a charming narrow passageway, with a stonework ceiling and two inbuilt robes, bringing to a lovely sitting - TV room, with a three seater sofa, and two leather armchairs which opens to a panoramic small terrace.

On this side of the house is

• A large double bedroom - can be made as a twin - furnished with a beautiful antique chest of drawers and its own TV. This rooms opens out to the same terrace.The bathroom is in the hallway and is equipped with a Jacuzzi tub.

From the sitting room, another corridor leads to:

• A spacious double bedroom opening to a window with lovely views,
• A smaller double bedroom, also with window but opening onto the side terrace of the house.

Both bedrooms have flat screens TV and share the same bathroom in the corridor, with a shower recess and window with views.

At the end of this corridor is a small reception room, opening directly onto the garden terrace.

The top floor of the building ( the Attic) is reached through a staircase of 25 steps, departing from the side terrace and bringing to a huge solarium, enjoying a wide view of the Coast. The solarium has been set up with wrought iron dining set, inbuilt cushioned seating and outdoor shower.

The romantic attic accommodation is reached through seven steps down into:

• Living room with sloping ceiling, containing a dining table for four, antique two seater, kitchenette with sink, 2 electric hotplates and small fridge.
• Bathroom with shower
• Master bedroom - can be made as a twin - with sloping ceiling. It is well furnished, air conditioned and has a window looking out the garden.

Going back to the main level of the villa and then to the entrance gate, at 30 steps down is the lower level of the villa with its own gated entrance, which opens into a lush grassy garden looking out to the sea. The garden is furnished with loungers, coffee tables and is shaded by a pergola.

From the garden, twelve steps take up to the ground floor accommodation consisting of:

• A sunroom with an informal sitting area with wicker table and armchairs
• Spacious dining room with solid timber table, seating four and two sets of windows with views of Amalfi
• Two spacious double bedrooms, each with en suite bathroom; one of them can be made as a twin and has a garden view, instead of a sea view.

Note: There are no kitchen facilities at the ground floor accommodation.

Access: From the parking, 116 steps lead up to the main entrance of the villa. Car suggested but not essential.

Facilities: Washing machine, dishwasher, hairdryers in each bathroom, satellite TV, heating and air conditioning throughout, pay telephone for incoming and outgoing calls, ADSL Internet connection, CD player, barbecue, microwave, toaster, private parking spot for 3 cars.
