Description: Villa Deva is an historical Amalfi property located near Vettica, a village that extends between the sea and the mountain side along the western border of the city of Amalfi. This well known Amalfi villa originated in 12th century when Amalfi was a Maritime Republic; the building belonged to a small landowner and was extended during the Renaissance, after the tower of Cape Vettica was built in 1568, to assure better protection from the attacks of pirates. Further enlargements were carried out during the 18th century and the villa was finally brought to full splendour in 2005. A careful restoration has transformed it in a magnificent house offering high level of privacy and comfort. The villa's many big terraces, facing South-East, have unparalleled views sweeping from the high peaks of the Lattari Mountains down the town of Amalfi, stretching as far as the promontory at Capo d'Orso and to the bay of Salerno. The interiors of Villa Deva reflect the opulence of the past: airy, with high vaulted ornate ceilings and huge windows, they have been decorated with creamy tones; the floors are tiled with original antique terracotta. High quality linen drapes, important pieces of furniture and lighting create a refined and welcoming ambience; all modern comforts are available, such as air conditioning, satellite TV, high speed Internet connection and all domestic appliances.
