About PraianoPraiano is divided in two sections, one by the sea and thh other up higher. The upper part of the town is dominated by the parish church of Saint Luke, in a beautiful piazza surrounded by in built seats, known as 'The Antico Seggio'. This is where the local celebrations are held and where one can sit for hours, enjoying fantastic views and watching the locals going about their everyday life. On a rocky promontory stands the cylindrical mass of the Torre a Mare, a medieval structure which recalls the centuries-old struggle of the area's inhabitants against the attacks of pirates and marauders. From Praiano one can join the famous walking track justly called ' The Trail of Gods', going along the mountains above the Amalfi Coast; the best time to do this walk is in spring, until mid June or autumn from early October. The nearby towns of Amalfi and Positano can be reached by frequent bus services or by boat from the local marina.
Why Praiano + Less formal and more of a traditional fishing village than its famous neighbours + Better value for money in respect to accommodation, restaurants etc + Very accessible to local attractions
