Description

Casa a Lago is an outstanding property with a well-accomplished interior and a beautiful view of the water. Situated on the waterfront it covers three levels with an independent dependance on the ground floor and the rest of the villa on the two terraced floors above. Please not that cars to not have access to the villa - the closest parking is approximately 200m away down gently sloping cobbled walkways through the village.

The villa is spread out over three floors, with two of them having balconies opening to the lake. It has recently been beautifully redecorated and furnished with stylish wooden furniture in natural colours, contrasting well with the whitewashed walls. Shutters provide pleasant semi-shade if required.

On the ground level are a dining room with fantastic view and an open-plan kitchen and access to an outdoor veranda with table for 6. On level two is a living room with satellite TV; full bath with jacuzzi and telephone shower; matrimonial bedroom with en-suite bath (shower only); and a wonderful terrace out over the lake. The top floor contains a second matrimonial bedroom with en-suite bathroom plus a lofted area with two additional twin beds.

Position

The Casa a Lago rental accommodation is located on the shore of Lake Como at San Siro.

Distances and places of interest:

A drive down the lake (or boat ride) brings you to the town of Como, known as a vacation spot of the elite and also known for its production of fine silk. Day trips can be made by bus or car to the nearby Bellagio (15 km by ferry), Tremezzo (20 km), Como (30 Kms) Lugano, Switzerland (30 km) and to hiking in the Alps and by steamer on Como.
In the village you can find a restaurant, trattoria, alimentari (grocery stores), and walks along the lake Boat rentals, sailing and wind surfing equipment are available in San Siro. There are also many fine and beautiful golf courses in the lake area; the closest golf and tennis are in Menaggio.
Shoppers will also love the designer fashion factory outlets available just over the border into Switzerland and near Como.

Airports: Milan is about 36 miles to the south and Malpensa Airport is 90 km (54 miles) away.

Menaggio is situated half way up the western shore of the lake and has a pretty lakeside promenade and harbour to sit around. The town square is compact and lively and there are an assortment of small piazzas with cafe's and restaurants to relax at. Refundable security deposit

• A refundable security deposit of € 800.00 is payable on arrival at the villa (can be in equivalent $US or £GBP). The deposit will be refunded on final inspection excepting in the event of damage or for the deduction of extras.

• Cleaning fees are included in the rental price on this property. They include two hours of cleaning, twice weekly and final cleaning;
• One set of bed linen per week is included in the rental cost. Bath towels are changed midweek. Additional changes can be requested and will be charged at €12.00 per change per person;
• Electricity, gas and water costs are included;
• Heating - included in low season and according to use of energy in other seasons.
• A boat berth is available at a small local port at an additional cost of €50 per week;
• Late arrival fees. We will endeavour to accommodate, but cannot guarantee to satisfy requests for late arrival. The cost of pre-arranged late arrival (if available) will be advised at the time of booking. Unforeseen delays resulting in out of hours arrivals (if available) will incur a charge of € 50.00 payable to the local manager;
