Arriving into Rome by car or train, one is first likely to notice the ancient walls aquaducts that the Romans built to provide water to their city. On every corner it seems that there is some lasting sign - a plaque, an ancient sign, a carved column - the reminders are everywhere. The last time we arrived was in the evening and even after so many visits, we were taken aback by the lit ruins of ancient palaces and monuments throughout the city.
