Description

Passing through the gates of Villa Colletta a gravel driveway leads 500m up through heavily wooded countryside to arrive at the house. Don’t be alarmed if some of the deer that inhabit the forest cross your path, they are very shy and will quickly run away.

The villa is an imposing three story building with its entrance door at the rear of the first floor. Opening into an entrance hall with service bathroom, a door provides immediate access to a spacious and modern kitchen with a large island bench. The kitchen is extremely well equipped with appliances including an ice making refrigerator, 6 burner cooktop, large oven and automatic coffee machine. At the far end of the kitchen is a solid timber dining table for 10 and doors opening onto a furnished and sail covered terrace with table and chairs for outdoor dining. Separate wine fridges for white and red wine are just inside the entrance.

A door also leads from the entrance hall into a colourful living room with an office alcove. Two sets of double doors lead from the living room out onto a large terrace with expansive views of the woods, the Versiglia coast line and the Marble mountains of the Massa Carrara. There is also a double bedroom with en-suite bathroom opening off this living room.

Steps lead down to the lower ground floor where there is a service bathroom and larger living room with full panoramic views through curved glass windows. Furnished with great elegance the room has different areas for relaxing on divans, reading or playing games. Doors open out  onto a large terrace at ground level and off  to one side of the living room is a double bedroom with en-suite bathroom. A further corridor leads off to the service rooms equipped with washing machine, tumble dryers and ironing facilities.

Internal stairs lead from the entrance hall up to the top floor which has a double bedroom and a single bedroom which both open out onto panoramic balconies. These bedrooms share a bathroom with whirlpool bath on this level. There is also a further terrace with table and chairs covered by a gazebo, swing chairs and sunchairs for  relaxing and enjoying great views over Versiglia.

Externally, wide paved stairways provide access between all levels. There are various gardens and relaxation areas richly planted with colourful flowering plants including roses, geraniums, lavender, calistamen, ginestra or fragrant herbs including mint, thyme, rosemary, bay trees.

A wide paved stairway leads up to the swimming pool (8m x 15m) area which is furnished with sun chairs and lounges, a covered cabana, outdoor shower and change room. The views towards the sea are magnificent and it is a wonderful place to enjoy late afternoon aperitivo. We advise that high tension electricity wires pass in front of the villa above the line of sight at approximately 70m of distance.

Facing the view, the forest area is to the left whilst the area below the villa has a rich orchard with over 70 fruit trees including cherries, plums, apricots, nuts, peaches, lemons, oranges and pears. There are a further 200 olive trees and a large vegetable garden for the benefit of guests – strawberries, tomatoes, zucchini, eggplant, lettuce, carrots to name a few.

Position

Villa la Colletta located at 3.5km from Pietrasanta and 7.5 km from the Marina di Pietrasanta beach. Entrance to the villa is through a secure gate and a gravel driveway leads approximately 500m up to the villa. We advise that there are two tight corners in the driveway that might be seen as difficult for inexperienced drivers. We had no difficulty in our medium sized station wagon.
